Berlin, March 2025. The M4 Ready Study Trip brought young leaders from across Europe into one of the continent’s most complex and creative cities, and Berlin met us with stories worth listening to. Over a couple of days we worshipped, learned, prayed together, and had the kind of honest conversations that tend to happen when you put people from very different contexts in the same room and let them ask each other the hard questions.
Christina, Andrea, David, Theo, and Gabi carried us through the teaching. Alongside them, Berlin’s own church planters: Jana, Dirk, Jonathan, Aaron, and Beni, sat down with us and shared what it actually takes to start something new in a city like this one. Sunday morning, we scattered across Berlin to visit local churches and see the work up close, and the rest of the time was filled with nation group prayer, shared meals, walks between venues, and friendships that have quietly outlasted the trip.
What stayed with us wasn’t a conference feeling. It was the realisation that church planting in Europe is happening right now, across languages and cultures and very different corners of one city, and that the calling is shared.
